Hey everyone, and welcome back to the kitchen! Today, we're making a classic French dessert that's surprisingly easy to create: creme brulee

Gather Your Ingredients 

– 2 cups heavy cream – 1 vanilla bean (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract/paste) – 5 large egg yolk – ½ cup sugar – Pinch of salt – 6 (4-ounce) ramekin – Hot water – Granulated sugar (for caramelizing) – Kitchen torch (optional)

Preheat your oven to 300°F 

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with the vanilla bean (seeds scraped in) or extract/paste until simmering. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes. 

Slowly whisk the hot cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture to temper the eggs
