Oat Burger Buns Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 100 grams 1 cup oats
  • 260 ml 1.1 cups water
  • 1 egg
  • 12 grams 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 grams 1/2 tablespoon yeast
  • 300 grams 2 cups bread or wheat flour
  • 3 grams 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 15 ml 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Soak the Oats:
  • Mix oats and water in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the oats are slightly sticky. Then, add the egg, sugar, and yeast, and mix well.
  • Form the Dough:
  • Add the bread or wheat flour, salt, and olive oil to the oat mixture. Knead the dough until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Shape the Buns:
  • After the dough has risen, transfer it to a mat and divide it into 12 portions (or 8 for larger buns). Shape each portion into a round bun and place on a baking sheet.
  • Second Rise:
  • Cover the buns with plastic wrap and let them rise for 40 minutes.
  • Bake the Buns:
  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Brush the tops of the buns with egg wash or milk, and sprinkle sesame seeds for decoration. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.

  • Brush the tops with milk for a golden crust if you don't want to use egg wash.
